I would like to know a good supplement for women.  There are way too many to pick from at the local GNC.  Any suggestions for someone 38, who wants to have more muscle def and become leaner?  I don't want to bulk up, but rather be more tone.  Also, I don't want something that makes my heart race.

Thanks!

Amy I am a 52 year old woman that was a competitive powerlifter for 15 years and still involved in the sport even though I haven't competed since 2005. The only suppliment that I found that actually worked for me to help add muscle and fuel my workout other than diet was creatine. You don't have to buy expensive creatine and stay out of GNC. Just pure creatine. Go to Walmart, Sams or even a good healthfood store. You need to eat good lean protein and a lot of it to build the muscle. You will not bulk up unless you are blessed with the right genetics or are using "drugs" to help with that. I am able to build the muscle mass and due to my sport that is what we aim for but for lean definition do lower weights with a lot of reps but you will have to stress the muscle in order to build new muscle so don't be afraid of the weights. I also use a good multi, C, E, fishoil, glucosamine (without condroitin or anything else, maybe MSM won't hurt) calcium with D, flax seed (whole) and cook with only olive oil. Hope this helps a little. I know how frustrating it can be as a woman trying to lean down and build definition. Good luck and if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. Workout safe.
Hi Amie,

I know the perfect supplements to take building lean muscle mass for women! I have been a trainer for 4 yrs and always had a rough time building lean muscle mass. I was always what you would call 'skinny fat'. I looked skinny but literally no muscle. Once I started adding high grade sources of protein and specific supplements to my nutrition, I went from 20% body fat to 13.2% in 5 months, then gained 10 pounds of lean muscle. I took some specific -and very affordable- supplements (ie; aminogen) and protein based snacks from Herbalife.... AMAZING. The company provides plant based sources of food so nothing to make your heart race. Email me at mind.body.ease@gmail.com and I can hook you up w/exactly my program. :) Have a great day! -Megan
If you want to lean out you need to do a strict Paleo diet, its more of a way of life than a diet really! While on Paleo you consume meat, veggies and some fruits and nuts along with healthy fats. If you do strict paleo you will be cutting out all dairy, legumes, grains and non-water drinks. Those of us in crossfit either live a Paleo or Zone lifestyle. You should take a 1 a day vitamen along with fish oil, drink lots of water and eat healthy foods and you will lean out. You need to continue to work out with weights... none of this 5lb weight bull poopy, lift some real weight, your not going to get bulky unless you are a bulky person but your not so you won't. I know a woman who does a 135# overhead squat and shes tiny, but she has definition she even has a 6 pac. She eats nothing but paleo and lifts her butt off. It can work you just have to do the right work to get what you want... Look into crossfit... www.crossfit.com and check out the forums they have tons of before and after pics it will amaze you!! Good luck!
I am a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Based on what you are looking for (more muscle and being lean) The supplements that I have used for years were recently announced and recognized as the Certified Official Supplement Brand in the International Sport Karate Association (which they have never done in 25 years). This website has the different supplements that Professional Athletes and Olympians around the world use: http://www.teammannatech.com/products/
The product in particular that will give you your desired results is Osolean.
Thanks for the info.
You're welcome! Have a great day:)
